Bourbon coffee is a delicious bourbon-spiked coffee sweetened with brown sugar and topped with whipped cream. It is basically Irish coffee but made with bourbon. It will surely be a treat for all bourbon drinkers!
You could also add some cream to your coffee if you don’t like it black. In this recipe, we’re using whipped cream. This coffee tastes quite strong, so you must really like bourbon whiskey to like this drink!

How to make Cold Brew Bourbon Cocktail
While Bourbon Coffee is bitter and strong in taste, Cold brew Bourbon Cocktail is smoother and not as bitter. We think the flavors of the cold brew coffee are more nuanced and delicate. The cold process reduces the acid and keeps some of the volatile oils that normally dissipate in the hot process.
For making cold brew, We started out with a medium roast breakfast blend coffee. If you don’t have a blend coffee, you can even use a single origin coffee. We made our cold brew by coarsely grinding our whole beans and adding that to a batch of cold water and letting it steep overnight.

STEP 1: Mix cold brew liquid with Bourbon. The sweet vanilla and caramel notes of the bourbon complimented the dark flavors of the coffee.
STEP 2: Pour in the brown sugar to make a sweet caramelized taste. This added a flavor that really works with the coffee and bourbon in this cold brew cocktail.
STEP 3: Add the orange syrup. Adding orange juice brightened the cocktail and added a nice orange perfume.
STEP 4: Topped with heavy cream. Heavy cream gives the drink a rich creaminess and a wonderful silky mouthfeel. Plus, it gives the cocktail a classic latte look.
Some extra variations:
- Vanilla syrup: Either you want to make hot Bourbon coffee or cold brew Bourbon coffee, Vanilla syrup can be an additional ingredient since it will add sweet vanilla flavor into your drinks.
- Cinnamon: Going classic? We recommend adding a cinnamon stick. Burn or torch the cinnamon and put it on top of your Bourbon coffee. The smoky flavor will bring classic nuances.
